Truth and Union Lodge and Truth and Union KOP Council Participate in Adopt-A-Road Program12/27/2016 On 12/3/16 the Brothers of Truth and Union Lodge #594, along with the Truth and Union KOP Council, participated in a fourth Adopt-a-Road cleaning in the 2016 calendar year. The Adopt-A-Road cleaning started in the 8am and ended at 10:00am. This was an attempt to showcase how Master Masons, through volunteerism, can be upright citizens and help to maintain the community. Truth and Union Lodge #594 has volunteered to maintain the mile and a half strip of road. After the volunteer event, the Truth and Union KOP council attended a lecture from brothers Daryl Steward and Paul Mateen, which conveyed the values of charity. This was done in preparation of a future trip to a homeless shelter, where the Truth and Union KOP Council will bring toys for children of the shelter as well as needed essentials for the women of the shelter. For more information on the Truth and Union KOP Council, please contact Brothers Daryl Steward and Paul Mateen.

Truth and Union Knights of Pythagoras Council Hosts First Annual Parents Appreciation Day12/27/2016 On Saturday, November 19th, 2016, the Truth and Union Knights of Pythagoras Council hosted its Parents Appreciation Day event. The morning was initiated by greeting parents with a hot breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage and grits prepared by our Chaplain Darryl Steward. Coupled with refreshments, intimate conversation showcasing the yearly agenda and organizational direction for our young knights was hosted by Brother Musa Mateen. The highlight of the morning involved the Knights expressing their appreciation for their parents in various ways, such as reading poetry, reading Bible verses, and playing instruments, which was directed by our Past Master Roderick Kimble and Brother DeJarvis Oliver. The Order of the Knights of Pythagoras is an international organization composed of youth from nine to twenty years of age inclusive, working under the sponsorship and personal supervision of Prince Hall Masons, to provide beneficial use of their spare time, worthwhile companions, wholesome, educational environment, and a program aiming to interest and aid youths, in their all-round development.
