On February 18, 2017, Truth and Union Lodge #594 and New Bethel AME Church once again partnered to offer free food to the community. The day was rainy but that did not deter the members of New Bethel and a sizable delegation from Truth and Union to come together to do this great work. We would like to give a special thanks to the wives and family members who came out to assist. We are very excited to continue this great partnership. Galations 5:13 - You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. A few photos from the day are included.

Martin Robison Delany (May 6, 1812 – January 24, 1885) was an African-American abolitionist, journalist, physician, and writer, and arguably the first proponent of black nationalism. He was one of the first three black people admitted to Harvard Medical School.
He was also a proud Prince Hall Mason who connected Freemasonry's origins to Ancient Kemet (Egypt) and Kush, Black African civilizations. Submitted by, Bro. Akil Shakur, Truth and Union Lodge #594
We cordially invite the community to join the members of Truth and Union Lodge #594 for our next Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebees. The event will take place on Saturday April 15, 2017. The details and online ticket purchase options are below.
Truth and Union Lodge Flapjack Fundraiser When: Saturday April 15, 2017 8am to 10am Venue: Applebees 2095 Pleasant Hill Road Duluth, GA 30096 Tickets: $5 per person. The KOP made a charity trip to the Womens and Childrens shelter of Gwinnett, bearing toys for the children and gifts for the women presiding. Sr. knight Mateen and Treasurer Harte made a speech for the KOP emphasizing the need to help people in need and never to avoid giving.
A small and pleasant surprise came in finding that one of our own Knights had used a shelter once with his mother. It was raining and thundering, however the result was worth the effort. |
