Truth and Union members attended the 'It Takes A Village' youth symposium on Saturday April 29, 2017. The event was put on by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Georgia, and is designed to bring youth and adults together to discuss issues that pertain to the youth. Truth and Union's KOP (Knights of Pythagoras) is a youth group consisting of young men from Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. The lodge is dedicated to helping to mentor young men and help guide them towards a path of success in life.
Pictures from the event are below. On Saturday April 29, 2017, the Brothers of Truth and Union Lodge and the Truth and Union KOP will participate in a very important youth forum which is being presented by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Georgia.
The event is to target and focus on issues that are affecting our community while we discuss, educate and hear from the youth during the symposium. This event is free to the public, refreshments will be provided, and dinner vouchers will be distributed at no cost to all participants. Truth and Union Lodge is committed to making a difference in our community and participating in events like this allow us to find out how we may be of better service to the youth in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. For more information please contact Brother Mateen at [email protected] Our KOP were treated to a professional basketball game hosted by the Atlanta Hawks against the Brooklyn Nets.
KOP chapters from Gate City and St. James lodges were attending. Our KOP members were taken to the American Legion on Highway 78, in Lilburn, GA to learn about respect, patriotism, and honor for the land our forefathers built.
A speech was held by the caretaker while hotdogs and hamburgers where served and grilled on the premises by Brother Hutch. Our young men had a great time while learning some very important life lessons. |
